The group applied to the Grand Chapter of Virginia for a dispensation to form a chapter, which was approved. The organizational meeting was on April 6, 1929. It was held in a room on the third floor of the Farmers & Merchants National Bank building. The chapter faced financial struggles. They also lacked a permanent meeting place. However, the members’ dedication and spirit saw them through the Great Depression and beyond. The chapter continued to grow and thrive, thanks to the hard work and commitment of its members.

Over the years, the McKinley Chapter No. 19 has been involved in various community activities and charitable endeavors. They have supported local schools, hospitals, and other organizations through fundraising events and volunteer work. The chapter has also been a place for members to form lifelong friendships. Members support each other in times of need.
